The Overview

Wayward Acquisition began its new chapter built on ideals and ambition. After the end of the Final Days the free company relocated to Thavnair to establish its home base and become known as a mercantilism company serving a variety of positions from collecting artifacts, bounty hunting, economic growth and trade, research and development - and more. Mercantilism had become an umbrella term for the multifaceted inner workings of the ever expanding organization that has seeds planted throughout Etheirys: namely Uldah, Gridania, Garlemald at present. More prospects are in their future to extend their outreach with the intention of helping any and all who cross their path.As Dawn Trails, Wayward Acquisitions looks West beyond the isles of Vylbrand to explore a nation foreign to all - Tural.Embrace the unknown and let new opportunities shape your future.Remaining chaotically neutral, moves have been made to facilitate trade with lesser known and more lucrative operations with the Underworld to procure rarer conveniences of fortune for those who seek it out. After celebrating three years of being a free company, we have laid our foundation as a warm and welcoming community that has become a home to many. We are open-minded and evolve with the individuals that continue to grow with us.Our focus as a free company is to continue to strive to be a fulfilling community to be a part of. We have a lot of folks who just simply love hanging out with one another, and we want to promote that.Described as 'Blissfully Unique', we maintain a healthy balance between real life and fantasy by respecting one's personal endeavors while creating continuous opportunities to be a part of in-game events. We have an active discord that displays our calendar of weekly events for PVE and RP alike. We occasionally have off-game events from Jackbox, Movie Nights, and more from time to time. Quite a few of our community members can be found playing other games such as Guild Wars 2, World of Warcraft, Helldivers, and more.Our ideals are to facilitate an environment that promotes creative writing and collaborative storytelling. We want to explore the open world, and intend to run events as well to dive into the world of Final Fantasy. Wayward Acquisitions is a niche operation in the realm of mercantilism. With ideals of philanthropy we prioritize people over profit. The impact we have in the world around us is the real currency here.We strive to send supplies to struggling regions, provide rebuilding materials after calamities, promote fair-trade agreements, and offer sponsorship of artisans and small merchants.Our primary exports are cultural goods from Thavnair and miscellaneous goods per clientele requests. This can look like a variety of things, but ensuring satisfaction of the people we serve is of utmost importance.Wayward Acqusitions operates legally and above board, building rapport across the star with various regions to extend their outreach. After three years of building our foundation however, we are quickly discovering we are not alone. Other companies exist, but not all share our ideals and ambitions.

Storyline & Plot

Current Storyline

A few moons ago, Wayward Acquisitions had undertaken a contract to find and retrieve a lost coffret to a client. That client had assumed a guise to get on the free company's radar, deceiving them of her true identity and forcibly conscripting them to aid in her cause. This is the work of Vectra, now known as Eden Tiera, who was part of the Ruby Division of Gemstone Solutions.Gemstone Solutions is a residing trading company in Limsa Lominsa with its reaches scouring across Eorzea proper. Their leader, Damocles, or Brantley Tiera, has obtained power and newfound ambition to weed out the 'lesser competition' and dominate the trade empire on the continent... and then some.It started in Tural, ultimately, having a disagreement with Ah-Tabai Logistics who oversaw the imports and exports via sea. Ah-Tabai Logistics [ATL] carries pride for their homeland and the way their people do things. They are very by the book in their approach and have fervent beliefs in doing the right thing. Denying Gemstone Solutions a shipment of electrope from Alexandria was just the beginning. A cross discussion lead them to stonewalling trade with certain companies... one of them including Wayward Acquisitions. Turali culture has and always will be a priority, and the influx of outside trading was not helping matters.Gemstone Solutions tipped their hand by executing Coursing River, Wayward Acquisition's Lominsan Ambassador. What [WAC] learned was that Coursing River had been investigating the free company proper and discovered the veins of a large underbelly through Limsa's beating heart, corrupted with murder, smuggling, and flesh trade. Before Coursing River could conclude her solo investigation, she was apprehended and killed. Not for naught, but Gemstone Solutions Obsidian branch also perished this day between death and dissolution.Next came dissent. V'katya Sazin of the Gemstone Solutions Sapphire Divison, Arcana Smuggling and Acquisition, was captured by Wayward Acquisitions after the vigil held for Coursing River... only to be later allowed to escape. It was a deceptive ruse playing the long con that eventually lead to the Sapphire Division's collapse, and V'katya joining Wayward Acquisitions proper. Not before Cerys Korvesse, Wayward Acquisition's Turali Ambassador was captured overseas in the New World and thrown into gaol for two counts of murder.A meeting with Vectra in the dead of night lead to the allegiance of Eden who pledged to protect the rest of their Eorzean Ambassadors and dissent against their father and his ambitions. She remains working internally inside Gemstone Solutions, funneling information back to Wayward Acquisition as opportunity allows, such as another dissenter among their ranks... this time in the Emerald Division. Aegis.Things kick up in Tural after discovering a shipment of electrope was stolen, two ATL representatives were murdered, and it was all the fault of Cerys, Ambassador of Wayward Acquisitions. Investigations have shed light this was a frame job, no doubt from Kaleidoscope of Gemstone Solution's Ruby Division who had the power to glamour themselves into a near lookalike of another individual. There was no proof to acquit Cerys of all charges.Shaad, Sunny Varne's revenant companion sought the opportunity to sew Chaos in Tural after learning Cerys was not going to be released. Wayward Acquisitions arrived just in time to provide damage control, as the extended damage done resulted in the free company being banned from all trade in the New World. Amidst the chaos, Maul from Gemstone Solutions had abducted Cerys, heading toward the levin dome in the northern part of the continent. Both are currently MIA. Until Cerys is safely returned to be trialed for her crimes or proof is presented showing otherwise, Wayward Acquisitions is not allowed on Turali soil.Despite the grave news, Aegis whereabouts in Coerthas were found. With Maul in Tural and Aegis on the other side of the world, Wayward Acquisitions learned they had been conscripted under Damocles' rule via blackmail for the last half decade, working inside their flesh trading Emerald Division against her will. Wayward utilized extended resources to obtain the very proof they had on Aegis and liberated her freedom. In turn, Aegis dissented against Gemstone Solutions and pledged her loyalty to Ishgard, determined to return home and start anew.As of current, Cerys is still missing. There is a parlay in the works with the Landsguard Magistrate and Ah-Tabai with an unexpected voice - Estelle Tussaud of Tural, who has taken initiative in Cerys' absence.

House Rules

Quick Overview

As of 1.24.2026, we have revised our rules to better fit our growth and standards. Yes, there are still quite a few rules but less than before.In this overview I wish to highlight a few things with you.

  • Wayward Acquisitions has a meritocratic administrative system. Our use of the term defines our admin as observing the individual as they are, and treating each case based uniquely on thus. We have standards, but acknowledge one thing may not be fair and/or b e the same for another. Please respect our judgement.

  • We are LGBTQ+ Friendly. You matter, you are loved.

  • We are a 21+ FC. Anyone underage will be removed. We are an adult community who wishes to be among fellow adults. A certain level of maturity is expected. Some themes and elements presented in our roleplay may also appear suggestive or mature.

  • Real life comes first. Always. Anything in the game or roleplay can wait for it. Just give your colleagues a heads up.

  • Newer roleplayers are welcome here. We have a lot of veteran writers to help get you acquainted.

  • Our roleplay alignment is: CHAOTIC NEUTRAL. Wayward Acquisitions is notoriously chaotic, but for the greater good. Not all of our stories may be in accordance to the law. We do offer opportunities for darker and more mature themes in our setting primarily with the Withered Lilac.

  • Have fun! Just don't ruin anyone else's. We're all here to have a good time.


The House Rules

  1. Respect is important. Treat people as you wish to be treated.

  2. We have a safe word. This safe word may be used by parties to opt-out of a discussion or topic if they wish to step away or do not wish to engage further. This word is Poppycock. Please respect the decision if the safe word is used.

    Players will be timed out if this is ignored, regardless if one is in voice chat or typing in a chat channel. Continuance of the discussion will result in moderation sweeping.

  3. No OOC Drama/Harassment. Zero tolerance for drama. No racism, sexism, flaming, gaslighting, trolling, hate speech, shit-stirring, and outright disrespect. AKA Don't be a dick.

  4. Consent. Do not do anything the other person does not consent to, be it running content, roleplaying, or simply doing things together. Consent is key.

  5. Remain Civil on "Hot Topics". We all have different opinions and views. At the end of the day this is a FFXIV RP Discord & Community. Topics such as religion, politics, present world events, and topics of genAI affect everyone in some way, shape, or form.

    ♦ Please take these discussions in DM. We do not wish to censor people, but we are wanting to create a more positive community environment as a whole. Topics that reflect these 'Hot Topics' will be removed from public chat and redirected.

  6. See something, say something. If you are a witness to a member actively breaking a rule, please address this as soon as possible with the Council so we can investigate.

    No one will be penalized for reporting something they feel is wrong. We may not know how / when to fix something if nothing is said. We're not mind readers.

  7. No Documentation, No Proof. The Council will no longer be dealing with issues unless there is documentation reinforcing the matter at hand. We will not play "He said, She said". While Rumors & Doxing is forbidden, for the sake of moderation we will be requiring this. We prefer to see all sides to make objective decisions.

  8. Rumors and Doxing. Don't spread gossip or people's private information.

  9. IC Conflict permitted. OOC is not. Any conflict IC is encouraged, especially for means of development. IC actions have IC consequences. If IC carries into OOC and cannot be resolved privately, please contact an officer for attempts at mediation. If OOC conflict starts to affect things openly, we reserve the right to take disciplinary action as necessary.

    In the effort to keep IC and OOC separate, please be mindful to not transgress your IRL feelings through your character and into your RP. Its better to step away than to engage in hopes that the outcome will change.

Roleplay Guidelines

  1. Themes regarding sexual assault are off limits. This includes sexual harassment.

  2. IC is IC. OOC is OOC. Do not blend the two. Character emotions and opinions should remain in character. See the above House Rule for extended clarification.

  3. Powerplaying and Godmodding is not allowed. Metagaming should also be avoided as much as possible.

    Powerplaying means taking control of another character's actions without permission. Godmodding means being invincible and unable to be killed or able to be damaged beyond a normal individuals limits. Metagaming means introducing OOC knowledge into IC without permission. We are not omniscient, or omnipotent.

  4. Keep your character's power level in check. We do not accept 'Warrior of Light' cannon in our roleplay universe. Headcanon for WoL is allowed, but cannot be portrayed IC in our setting. We will not accept namedropping relations with famous NPC characters. Anything on the magnitude of being dealt with by the Warrior(s) of Light may not be applicable in our setting. If you have to ask if its too strong or powerful, please defer to The Council for final say.

  5. We allow Lore Bending here, but not breaking. Please keep an open mind we do stick to the primary means of lore while exploring the unique opportunities creative writing brings us. If you are unsure what falls under lore or not, ask the Council. If you have a concept you wish to bring into the FF setting, the Council can help you decide if its workable or not so to as not to ruin overall immersion.

    We will only accept things found in the Final Fantasy universe in our roleplay setting. We will not allow transplantation of other characters or concepts from outside the FF setting.

  6. Please be mindful of creating roleplay opportunities for one another. No one wants to roleplay with someone all powerful or who has a solution for everything all the time.

  7. Keep your roleplay balanced. Bad things can happen. But also good things.

  8. Please be mindful that players have different styles of roleplay and different standard posting lengths. Some players type slower. Be communicative and patient with how your roleplay buddy types and how long it takes for them to respond.

    In example, If a single-line post in game takes 20 minutes it may disrespectful to both you and the other writer's valuable time.

  9. Please declare your writing intentions. While we have safeties in place, it is up to you to be clear of your writing intentions - up to and including announcement of triggering topics / themes in your roleplay events. If your roleplay has suggestive or sensitive themes, please make sure all participating parties are aware sot hey can opt out before it gets heavy. GET CONSENT.

  10. Actions have consequences. Be prepared for the likely consequences of your IC actions. Talk shit, get hit. If you get caught in criminal activity, you will likely be arrested. If you are knocked out in combat, you are knocked out until you recover or are thereby raised per our combat system. If you get caught doing drugs on company time / dime, you may risk being fired ICly for it. So on, and so forth.

    ♦ For those in the Withered Lilac Specifically, DONT TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB. Remember, The Withered Lilac is an illegal operations hub. If you talk about it in the wrong setting, you can face consequences IC! Use Thieves Cant or Vague Language.

Billiards: How to Play

Pre-Game Checklist

  1. Make sure each player has a pool stick.

  2. Use the triangular mold to place all the balls neatly on one side of the table, centered and a bit up from the bank.

  3. When 'racking', alternate solid and stripes around the edges and place the 8 ball in one of the three middle spots.

A Beginner's Guide

This is a roleplay immersive event.
This is just the mechanics in between.


  • Both players roll to decide who goes first. Highest roller breaks.

  • Player 1 breaks the pool set by rolling /random 15 to see if the cue ball hits one of the balls on the table.

  • Player 1 rolls /random 2 to determine if they make that ball in or not. 1 for hit, 2 for miss.

  • If Player 1 makes it in, they look at the number they shot [i.e number 9.] and see if they play as solid or stripes. [If they hit #9 in, they are stripes.]

The '8' is listed to keep the numbers even in competition. So for Solids you have a lead. Whenever you get down to /random 2, you can technically roll on the eight ball since its your last 'solid'

  • The board is now divided. Keep track of your score. Each player now has 7 balls to make in the pocket. Of course if you break and make a ball in, just subtract a number from the /random roll you have for your next turn. You will not be rolling for the 8 ball until all of your kind [ even, or odd] has made it into a pocket.

  • You will use /random 7 to roll on your turn for both Player 1 and 2. Then you will /random 2 to determine if the ball hits or misses the pocket.

  • If you miss, your turn is forfeit. If you hit, you subtract 1 from your /random total. [Instead of /random 7, it becomes /random 6 and so on until you pocket your last ball.]

  • What happens when you make all of your solids or stripes? Now its all or nothing.


The Eight Ball

  • This ball will not be rolled for hit or miss until the end of the game.

  • When its time to aim for the 8 ball, you'll roll /random 2. 1 is hit, 2 is miss. If it hits, you win the game. Just be sure to call your pocket!

  • If you miss your shot, your turn is forfeit and you may try again next turn to 'hit' it in, giving your opponent another turn to 'catch up'.

NOTE: This is not 100% true to actual pool. Because this is a virtual setting using RNG, draft 1.0 of this ruleset is liable to change after feedback is presented.
We have not calculated a proper way against RNG to include the 8 ball for 'early ends' to the game.
We chose for the eight ball to be 'all or nothing' so its a race with RNG to see who gets to shoot the 8 ball first and wins.
ALSO "Scratching" can be part of your 'missed' turn. It is not factored into RNG.

Midnight Star is primarily a trading company that owns various establishments such as The Wolf's Cup Cafe. Midnight Star also goes to many markets to sell goods such as fine wines and whisky made by our winery and distillery, beautiful gems mined and cut by hand, high quality spices hand picked by expert botanists.

A round glass lined with a spiral of chocolate syrup, this delight is akin to an alcoholic chocolate milkshake. Chocolat eliquer, rum based coffee liquer, cocoa and whiskey infused creme, a dash of heavy creme, and served right on the rocks. If you have a boozy sweet tooth, you can't go wrong!

As the name suggests, teleport to paradise with this blissful cocktail. Berry Blast flavored powder, white craberry juice, black cherry puree, raspberry vodka & chambord, and cherry pop rocks scattered within make up this drink. Taste this crackling drink on the rocks as it awaits to take you back in time.

Alcoholic
Marshmallow vodka, moogle aether-infused crystal cola, a dash of fresh nutmeg, and topped with a decorative 'pom' on the rim of the glass that tastes quite like bubble-gum on a pink sugar rim. This makes up the whimsical spirit before you. Just don't let a moogle get their hands on it!
Players /random before consumption. <750 and you will involuntarily sprinkle the word "kupo" throughout your dialogue for ten minutes.
No moogles were harmed in the creation of this concoction.

Rryz's Kiss

Alcoholic
A taste of the void - without all the danger attached to it. Lominsan peach liquer, amaretto liquer, cranberry juice chilled and strained into a shot glass coated in purple sugar infused with levinlight. The individual risks having a harmless shocking experience upon first taste of the sugar rim.
/random before consumption. 450+ is safe. <450 and you're shocked initially by the levinlight before being able to consume the drink.

Sapphire WEAPON

Alcoholic
Is it cold, or just the roof of your mouth? This drink has a slushie-like texture and is very cold. Mixed with vodka, champagne, blue curacao and lemonade it makes for a refreshing spirit on a hot summer's day. A lemon wedge is ran along the rim of the glass before an icelight sugar concoction coats it. Pucker up!
